Masked: a behind the eyes perspective ...

The Masked series, began with a self-portrait I’d taken more than 50 pounds ago, sometime in the mid 1980's. It was a time in which, inhibitions fell away–and what I view now as stifling belief systems, evaporated–in favor of true enlightenment.

These images deal with that transitional state–between true fearlessness and a closed mind. That moment when we first realize who we are, but still must contend with the face we've projected to the world.
